'December 9, 1913. <br /> <br /> We report that we will recommend in the Budget of 1914 an appropriation of $450.00 to <br />curb, gutter and lay a granolithic sidewalk on the south side-of Wythe street, from Court to <br />Third. <br /> <br />To pave O0oke street, from Glasgow to Harrell.~ Progress. <br /> <br /> To provide iD the Budget of 1914 for paving of Crawford street, from High to London. <br /> Progress. <br /> <br /> To extend the pavement'of Effingham' street, from County to South. Progress. ~'- <br /> <br /> It it further recommended that t~e Street Committee, ,City Attorney, and City Engineer <br />be a~thorized to take up with the Harbor Commissioners the ma~er of the p~oposed bridge at the <br />Cat Hole in First street, and it is the sense of the Committee that the span should not be over <br />10 feet. <br /> It is further recommended that Section 531 of the Ordinances be amended so as to pro- <br />vide a c..h~ge for opening st~eets and roadways not paved with b~iok, cement or plastic pavement; <br />that Sec~mon ~93 9f the Ordinances be amended so as to provide $3.00- instead of $1.50 for open- <br />lng brick eidewalks; and~hat a charge be made for cpen~n~ granolithic s~dewalks. <br /> <br /> It is recommended further that the City Engineer be directed tc inspec~ the poles of <br />the Virgi~kia~allway & ~ower ~ompany and ascertain if they are in~'conformity with the contract, <br />and where theyare' not xn accordance with the contract, to notify the Company to conform ~o the <br />contract at once, and also that the City Engineer report the result of this inv&stigation to the <br />Councils. <br /> (Si~ned) ~E.
