<br />of the Sewer Power House for December and to pay a laborer in the °~eventh Ward $30.00 for ser-

<br /> To set aside, in the Armistead Building two rooms for a public library, under s~peryii~ion
<br />of the Ladies Library Association.
<br /> Concurre~tin, with provision that said rooms are to be vacated in 30 days' ~otice
<br />therefor.

<br />To make available $5,000.00 appropriated for King's Daughters Hospital.

<br /> The BQard concurred also in all recommendations Of Committees adopted by the Common
<br />Council December 9th.
<br />
<br /> The Common Council on December 9th recommitted matter _of award for medicines, with -in-
<br />structions that the two bidders Messrs. J. W. Booth & Bro. and N. G. Gayle shall decide by bal-
<br />lot to whom the award is to be made.
<br /> The. Board of ~ldermen recommitted the matter of award for ~edicines, without instruc-
<br />tions.

<br /> -The Mayor returned his approval of the folloging matters adopted ~y the two branches of
<br />City Council December 9-16, 1913:

<br /> A special appropriation of $175.00 to pay for a fire-proof filing case in office of the
<br />City Treasurer.
<br /> A special appropriation of ~358.16 for operation of the Incinerator for the balance of
<br />the year.
<br /> To allow bills held up by the Auditor as follows: special appropriation of $10~.27 to
<br />Public Property Department and a special appropriation of $705.15 to Seventh ~ard, out of Sev-
<br />enth Ward funds.
<br /> A special appropriation of $551.8~ to pay sundry bills of t~he Public Property Department
<br />contracted during tglE and 1913.
<br /> To pay bills of ~rank Dunkumagainst the Sixth Ward to amounts of $I0~.00 and $108'.00, re-
<br />spectively, for removal, of TrAsh & Garbag? fzom said ~ard, out of Sixth Ward funds.
<br /> To make available $5,000.00 allgwed ~n B?dget of l~lZ-for King's Daughters'Hospital.

<br /> The regular reports of Officers for the month of December, 1913, were presented and were
<br />ordered .to take the usual sour.se. -

<br /> A oo~mmunication was read from the City Engineer to the Chairman of the ~treet Committee~
<br />calling attention to the fact~ that an additional appropriation of about SVB. O0 would be ~eces-
<br />sary to complete the improvements on Pearl street.
<br /> On motion~ the additi6nal app~oprmation was referred ~0 Finance Committee.
<br />
<br /> A cgmmunication was read from the City Attorney in which he requested.that ~red Lesner be
<br />allowed ~800~00~ with interest fr~m October ~0, 1915, and $$0.1% costs, said amount having been
<br />awarded him mn suit against the City for injuries received on First street.
<br /> On motion, the appropriation was allowed and by the following vote:

<br /> Er. Hall stated that Pabst Brewing Company claimed $1~.00 for damages to its wagon on Fir~
<br />street at the s~me time that Mr. Lesner was hu~t, and that the City Attorney~ after investiga-
<br />tion, had decided that the claim is ~ fair one.
<br /> Where,~pon, he moved that the appropriation be allowed~and the motion was adopted.
<br /> A request from received from the Treasurer to renew notes to amo,~t of $10~000.00 in the
<br />several City banksand to amount of $30~000.00 due S~reet Paving Bond Account.
<br /> The request was granted, and by the following vote:
