<br /> The Chairman of the Street Committee eXPlained that his Committee had endeavored,
<br />through the City Engineer and other officials, to enforce the contract but that the work has
<br />been finished and the Street OommLittee has no power to do anything further in the matter.
<br /> Whereupon, Mr. Johnson moved that the matter be referred to the Mayor and that he be
<br />requested to supply the Oouneil with what information he may have. regarding the same.
<br /> To allow the School Board to use the O*~ncii Chamber £o~ holding its sessions~ with con-
<br />dition that it be not occupied by the Board when needed by Cotmoil or council committees.

<br />ties of Frederick Allen. Morris Katz, and Lizzie E. Townsend, for extending Dinwiddie.street.
<br /> To permit the Youn~ Men's Chris~ia~ Association to tunnel under the sidewalk on High street,
<br />between Washington and Dinwiddie, under same conditions as applied to Mr. Norman Caesell to tun-
<br />nel in front of his Law. Building on ~dgh street a~d to the Bank of Tidewater to t,mnnel in front
<br />of its building.
<br /> To make award to J. W? Booth &~Bro. to supply the City with medicines for the year i$1~ at
<br />$.08 per pr~scription.
<br /> To allow to Fred Lasher $800.00, with interest from October ~0, l~l~, and $~0.1~ costs,
<br />said amount having been allowed him in suit against the City for injuries received on First
<br />street.
<br /> To authorize the Treasurer to renew notes to ~mou~t of $10,000.00 in the several City banks,
