<br /> A communication was received from the Superintendent of Public Schools, stating that Jno.
<br /> F. Wilson had failed to qualify as a member of the School Board from the Fifth Wa~d, a~d said

<br /> A communication was re~i from the Board of Health recommending that award be m~d~ to H. M.
<br /> Lucas to build a detention house on ~eet,.opposite the ~tyJail, for $195., he being
<br /> the lowest bidder fo~ ssume~ a~d : uested also that $~50., or as much of same as
<br /> necessary, be made available to pay f~ this work.

<br /> The Board of Hesulth reported~having referred to the Health Officer a petition of Trinity

<br /> Circle, King's Daughters & Sons, for a white district, nurse, said petition hay ng been referred
<br /> to said Board by Council; but n~ further motion was taken on same by ~his body~
<br />
<br /> A communication was received from the Board of Health reco.mm~ending the enactment of an
<br /> dinanoe fo~ examination and .registration of plumbers, and on motion, said communication was or-
<br /> dered to tie on the table.

<br /> A petition wms received from the Y. M. C. A~ that it be allowed to amend it petition to
<br /> t~el in front of its new building on High street so as te read a "coal bu~ker.~
<br /> Mr. Hawks asked for a suspension of the rules in order to consider the m~tter.
<br /> The rules were suspended a~d tbs explained the situation. Then~he moved that the request
<br />be granted, the work to be done in accordance with pla~ submitted for same, and o~he~wise, under
<br /> same conditions as mpplied to Norman Cassell to t~rn%eI in front of his Law' B~ilding.
<br /> The motion was adopted and by the following vote:
