<br /> the cost of work on Pearl street be divided between the Sixth and Seventh Warde, instead of
<br />~being impoesd on the Sixth Ward alone, Mr. Cooke protested against its adoption, as the m~ttsr
<br /> h~d been settled against the Sixth Ward a~tsr a very full consideration of sa~e~with the City
<br /> Attorney.
<br /> Whereupon, Mr. H~ll moved that this matter be referred to the Finance Committee to confer
<br /> with representatives from both the Sixth and Seventh Wards in order to thrash the matter out.
<br /> The motion was adopt.sd.
<br /> Mr. Hall then asked the Chairman of the Street Committee for a somewhat fuller explanation
<br /> of the expenditure of $1845. for having upper High street.
<br /> The Chairman of the Street C~mmittee gave a £ulle~ and it seems a eatiefaet0ry explanation
<br /> of such matter.
<br /> Then the report of the Committee, as amended, was adopted and by the following vote,

<br /> Mr. Tyler, acting Chairma~ of the Committee, requested also that the $300. allowed in the
<br />Budget for "Improvement of Court Room" be made available, and the request was referred, also to
<br />Finance Committee.
