Gentlemen:-- Your Sewerage 0ommittee respectfully reports

herein concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Sewer,s Committee April iS-E1,

1914:

Referred by Common 0ouncil April lath.

A petition of R. L. Albert and sundry other Master Plumbers and Journeymen Pi-ambers for
the establishment of a Board of Examination for plumbers.
We h~ve looked into this matter and would recommend that it is inexpedient to take any
action thereon at this time.

Authorized to ~dvertise for bids to repair the Sewer Power House.
We have so advertise~ amd h~ve received the following bids therefor:

For Ma~king Water Connections:

N. V. Pearson, $48.~5
P. J. Riley, 49.85
0scie D~shiell, 5~.00

It is recommended that award be made to N. V. Pearson for such work.

For Repairing Roof:

T. W. Thomas Roofing Co., $6~.00
E. H. 0denh~ll & Son, ?0.00

The bid of E. H. 0denhall & ~on is somewhmt higher than the bid of the T. W. Thomas
Roofing Co., but as E. H. 0~d~n~l & Son gu~rmutees to keep the roof in good order for eight
yemrs ~as seen by bid), it is r~commemded that award for .the work be made to that firm.

(Signed) T.F. White,
Chairman C. C.

The report of the Committee having been rea~, Mr. Reynolds moved that the recommendation
of the Committee with reg&rd to the establishment of m Beaird of Examination for Plumbers be re-
ferred back to the Committee for further consideration.
The matter was discussed ~ud the motion was lost on a division.
Mr. Hawks wished to know why award for repmiring roofs of the Sewer Power House was .recom-
mended to E. H. 0denh~ll & Son, said firm being a higher bidder tha~ the T. W, Thomas Roofing
Co. for the same work.
The Chairman of the Sewerage Committee explained that, though E, H. 0denhmll & Schwas the
higher bidder, yet said firm guaranteed the .roofs for eight yemrs and the Committee thought it
advisable to accept its bid with this guarantee.
The question w~ then asked if the bidders we~e~sked to give a guarantee, The reply was
no, that E. H. 0denhall & Son had voluntarily offered the guarantee.
Mr. Hs~wks then moved to make award to the T. W. Thomas Roofing 0o., provided it will give
the guarantee given by E. H. 0denh~ll & ~on. The motion was adopted.
