M~tters adopted by the Common Council May lZth and referred to ~he 'Board of Alder- <br />men for conourrenoe. <br /> <br /> To authorize the Treasurer to renew notes to am?u~t of $1S <br />95 for Sixth Ward Bond Account; $~1,000. for Schools, $141,000.''~00'~f°r Municipal Fund; $$,103. <br /> for General Account; $1,750. for <br />Sixth Ward; ~nd $1,750. for Seventh Ward. <br /> To allow the Y. M. C. A. to erect a coal bunker under the sidewalk in front of its new <br />building on High street, in accordance with plan for same, and under the. same conditions as <br />applied to Norman Cassell to tunnel in front of the Law Building. <br /> <br /> To refe,r to Public Property Committee, with power to act, recommendation of the Bo~rd of <br />Health with regard to making award to build a detention house, on County street Opposite the City <br />Jail.. <br /> <br /> To instruct the City Attorney to take steps to collect from Virginia Ry. & Power ~o. $400. <br />or more due the City by said Company for gutteri~g on High mtreet in the Si~h Ward. <br /> <br /> To allow the ladies o~ The Portsmouth Public Free Library to put a four-foot walk from <br />Court street to the building which they will occupy, provided the work is done without expense <br />to the City. <br /> <br /> To allow the Sewerage Committee to dispose of, either by exchange or sale, material or <br />junk at the ,Sewer Power House of no use there, with the understanding that receipts for such <br />m~terial shotuld be used for sewerage purposes. <br /> <br /> All of the above were concurred in, except with regard to ,~llowing the Sewerage Commit- <br /> tee to dispose of material at the Sewer Power House, &c,, which was amended so as to have the <br /> receipts from said material turned into the treasury and thence drawn on for ~ewerage purposes. <br /> <br /> The Board concurred in all recommendations of Committee~adopted by the 'Common Council <br />M~y 12th. <br /> <br /> Second. L. WatsoD from payment of $1~5, for City tkxes for the <br />year 1913, by order of court. <br /> To pay bill of Frank Dunkum to s~mount of $159.35, for removal of dea~ horses, and City Col- <br />lector instructed to put in a bill against Dalby, Nottingham Co. for refunding said amount to <br /> the City. <br /> To m~ke available $5,000. to King's Daughters Hospital for the yea~ 191~. <br /> To make available ~700. allowed in Budget for "Sewering Hunter's & Eaetwood's Lanes." <br /> To make available $1E~. allowed in Budget for "Repairs to Sewer Power House." <br /> To make available the following amounts allowed in Budget to Street Department: SEYB. for <br />Friends Church Drain; $175. for Sidewslk on S.
