July ~14, 1914. <br /> <br />Not concurred in. <br /> <br /> To authorize the Public Broperty Committee to spend a sum not to exceed ~50. in addition <br />to appropriation already made for "Repairs to Seaboard Market," for painting ontside windows <br />of the Armory Building, provided bids are asked for the work. <br /> Not concurred in. <br /> <br /> The Board concurred in all recommendations of Committees adopted by the Common Coun- <br />cil, except: recommendation of Public Property Committee to put a phone connection in office <br />of the City Collector, the matter of a straight phone, instead of a comuection, in said office <br />being referred to Finance and Public Property committees; recommendation of Sewerage Committee <br />with regard to Board of 'Examination for Plumbers, which was referred back to Sewerage Committee <br />with Ordinance Committee; and recommendation of Finance Committee to allow certain bills held <br />up by the Auditor because of lack of appropriation or because they exceeded 1/12 of appropria- <br />tion for same. <br /> <br /> The Board concurred also with the Common Council in making award to T. W. Thomas 'Roof- <br />ing Co. to repair roof of the Sewer Power House, with proviso that said Company give the guaran- <br />tee given by E. H. O~enhall & 8ons to do said work. ~ <br /> <br /> On motion, the body a~hered to its former action in authorizing the Treasurer to renew <br />notes to. amount of ~20,860.55, falling due in July, 1914. <br /> <br /> Second. Communications from the Mayor. <br /> <br /> The Mayor submitted~a communication from the Chief of Firs'Department enclosing a com- <br />plaint from the driver of hose wagon of Annex Fire Co. in reference to a horse which it seemed <br />impossible to use in the Fire Department, &c. <br /> On motion, ~the communication was referred to Fire Committee. <br /> <br /> The Mayor returned also his approval of the following matters adopted by the two branches <br />of City Council June 9-17th, 1914: <br /> <br /> Special appropriation of ~500., or as much of the same as necessary, to repair the Swimming <br />Point Bridge. <br /> Special appropriation of $1sg..to.repair wharf at the east en~ of High street. <br /> To make ayailable $150. allowed~in the Budgstfor "Repairs ~o Engine Houses." <br /> To makea~ailable~ $~00. allowed~in the Budget for "Improvement of Court Room." <br /> $155., out of $500. allowed in Budgetfor "Repairs to Engine Houses," for painting the Park <br />View and Union Fire houses. <br /> ~o authorize the Treasurer~to.borrow $8,000. for School Purposes.for May, 1914~ <br /> re make available the following amounts allowed in the Budget for 1914: "Repamrs to Asphalt <br />$1,000.00; "Sidewalks,"7$700.00; "West Park View,~ $150.00. <br /> To make award to N.
