<br />ordered to take the usual course.

<br /> The Auditgr reported the following bills held up by him, because of Xack of appropriation

<br /> On motion, the bills were referred to Finance Commmttee.

<br /> A request of the Treasurer to renew notes to amount of $84,000. falling due in November,

<br />meeting of said League in Norfolk October 15th and 16th had been post~o~e~ and the meeting call~

<br /> The resignation of G~LN. Harney as a member of the Board of Harbor Commissioners was read
<br />and was referred to a Joint Session of the two branches of City Council.

<br /> A communication was read from ~The~lltailan Colony of Portsmouth" extending to members~Of
<br />Council an invitation to participate in the parade to be given in honor of Columbus Day. Monday,
<br />October t2th, 1914; and~the invitation was ordered $o file. (Parade was before Oct. l~th).
