Gentlemen:-- Your Fire Committee respectfully reports herein concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Fire Committee October 13 and September 1914: Referred by Common Council October 13th. (With Finance Committee)' A bill of J. C. chased for the Fire Department. We concur with the Finance Committee Miller & Co. to amount in its report. of $26o. for a horse put- Advisability of disposing of three old horses in the Fire Department and of purchasing a new horse. Ne report that we dave advertised for bids to sell the three old horses in the Fire Dep~r~ment and also fom bids to purchase a new horse, and have received the following bi~s for purchase of the three old horses; F rom: W. J. Price, for Bay horse at Annex Engine House, $91,50 0. L. Williams: Gra~ hsrse, $39.00; Bay horse (heavy), $~.00; Bay horse (9 yea~s old), $110.00. Geo. R. Debnam: Annex horse Joe, $55.00; Chambers' horse Buck, $60.0C; Park ~iew horse, Baby, $85.00. H. L. Alexander: Buck, $$?.50; Joe, $37. B0; Baby, $6Q. 00; to W. fo~ $153.00. It is recommended that award be made to Geo. R. J. Price for "Bay" horse,~ for $~1.~0; and to H. L. They being the highest bidders for same. Debnam for "Buck" horse, for Alexander for .Baby" horse, There were no bide received to sell a new horse to the City. Referred by Common Council September 8th. A communication from the B. M. A. calling attention to the need ~ a fire plug at the cor- ner of South street, extended, and Des Moines avenue. Gent lemen~ -- You~ Cemetery Committee respectfully ~eport s herein concerning the ~ollowing matters re~erred lo the Joint Cemetery Committee October 13,1914: Referred by Common Council October 1Sth. A request of L. S. Stephenson and J. C. Ellis for the transfer of a cemetery lot from J. S. Perry, W. E. C~r~ell, L. S.~ Stephenson and J. C. Ellis to L. S. Stephenson and J.~ C. Ellis. It is recommended that said transfer be made, provided the City Attorney approve the same and that it be done at no cost to the City. A request of Mrs. Viola Ballentine to have her deed for a cemetery lot transferred to Mrs. Sarah Martin. It is recommended as recommended above. (Signed) O.E. Hutchins, Chairm~n C. C. Gentlemen:-- Your Light Committee respectfully reports here- in concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Light Committee October l~-E0, 1914: Referred by Common Council October 13th. Advisability of a light at the cQrner of Dinwiddie and King streets. It is r~oommended that a light be placed at this corner. To investigate the lights of the ~hi~ Way and ascertain if proper lighting is supplied. It is recommended that an appropriation of $$00. be made to purchase a testing machine for lights.
