Alexander for permission to lay_an eight-inch terra cotta sewer <br />pipe along Wall street, from Chestnut to Paa~l,~ at his own expense. <br /> It is recommended that the petition be granted, the work to be done under the super- <br />vision of the City Engineer. <br /> <br /> A petition of the Portsmouth Police Relief Association for use of the playground at the <br />corner of Fourth and Wythe streets during the month of May, 1915, to hold a carnival; and also <br />to be relie~ed~from the payment of a license tax on the same. <br /> It is recommended that the petition be granted. <br /> <br />To consider the paving of the south side of Ann street, between Armstrong and Owens. <br /> It is recommended that the work be done, at a cos~ of $175.00. <br /> <br />Referred by Board of Aldermen January ~6th. <br /> <br /> A petition of the Portsmouth Coal &Iee ~o. to be allowed to put a bridge across Armstrong <br />street, at the corner ef High and Armstrong, accompanied by diagram. <br /> It is recommended that the petition be granted, with the pr~vision that the bridge <br />be removed when the Council so requires~and at the expense of the Company. <br /> <br /> Condition of the culvert at the end of ~ashington street. <br /> We report that temporary repairs are being made to same and it <br />permanent improvements tD~re in the future. <br /> <br />is proposed to make <br /> <br />Flag crossing on Third street at the foot of Nelson. <br /> It is recommended that the flag czossing be made. <br /> <br />The cleaning of unpaved streets in the City. <br /> <br />Progress as tO same. <br /> <br />Attention called to the condition of King street, between Court and Dinwiddie. <br /> We report that the condition of this street has been remedied. <br /> <br /> Referred by Common Council December 8th. <br /> <br /> A communication from Dr. J. A. Guthrie concerning street ca~ service to West Park View. <br /> ~e ~eport that we have considered this matter and it is recommended that a street car <br />service ~e~adopted for Park View and West Park View as in proposed plan No. 1 submitted by the <br />Virginia P~ilway & Power Company.
