<br /> Each person, firm or corporation engaged in the sale of tobacco, cigars, or cigarettes, $5.

<br /> Each resident or non-resident carriage used as a public hack or for other business purposes,

<br /> Each resident or non-resident hearse, $20.00.
<br /> Each person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of ,mudertaking or embalming, $85.00.

<br /> Each resident or non-resident beer wagon, $75.00.

<br /> Each resident or non-resident automobile wan or truck, $10.00.
<br /> The foregoing sections to apply to every ca~t, truck, wagon, automobile, automobile van or
<br /> truck, or hack; used for conveying or hauling persons, merchandise, for hire or not (excepting
<br /> such as are used exclusively for domestic or farm purposes),~ a.nd no vehicle shall be used in the
<br /> city for hauling, directly or indirectly, for the purpose of evading the aforesaid tax, '~t any
<br /> person may obtain a special license to haul his own goods or other articles for his trade or
<br /> business without subjecting his wagon, team or vehicle to be hired by others, in which cass the
<br /> Commissioner of the Revenue is authorized to gte-ut him a special license therefor upon the pay~
<br /> ment of aforesaid tax.
<br />
<br /> Each shipbroker, $~5.00.
<br /> Each stockbroker, $150.00.
<br /> ~ach pawnbroker, $300.00.
<br />
<br /> Eac.h person, firm or coz~poration, other than banks, bankers or pawnbrokers, who shall make
<br /> it a buszness to lend money on salaries or rents, annuities, or the purchase of no~e.s, or nego-
<br /> tiating or making loans on notes or household furniture or other personal property, $~GO.O0.

<br /> Brokers, or dealers in timber~ logs or piles, each firm or corporation, eEO.O0.

<br /> Each private banker, $250, and when a person or firm is assessed with a license tax, b~th
<br /> as a private banker and a stockbroker, $400.00.

<br /> Buyers or sellers on commission of contracts for future delivery of stocks, cotton, grain
<br /> or other produce or provisions, whether bought or sold direct or through others, or by wire or
<br /> rail~ either in the city or otherwise, each person, firm or corporation, $250.00.
<br />
<br /> Each person, fir~ or corporation, who shall engage in the business of brokerage for print-
<br /> ing or book binding, $20. in addition to any tax on capital invested.
<br />
<br /> Each manufacturer or dealer in bricks, not otherwise taxed, $10.00.
<br /> Each eating house, $10.00, and an additional annual tax of 5 per cent. on the rental value
<br /> of the place of business in excess of $100. of such value.
<br />
<br /> Each cook shop or stand, $10.00.
<br />
<br /> Each eating house or cook shOp, from which there is an opening into ar a door, whether fas-
<br /> tened or unfastened, connected with a bar~oom or other place where zn~oxzGatzng liquors are sold,
<br /> in addition to the regular~license taxon liquors, $50.00.
<br />
<br /> Each circus, show, or menagerie, within the .city or within one mile of ~the boundary thereof,
<br /> for every twenty-four hours or part of the same, including one street parade~, $t00~. where the
<br /> admission fee is over 25 ce~s for adults. Each ~ide show for either of th~ above, $10.00.
<br />
<br /> Each street parade of a circus, show or menage.~ie, not included in the above, but where the
<br /> admission fee is over 85 Gents, $50.00.
