Such stock shall not be sold by any auctioneer or common crier ex- <br />cept upon payment of the above-mentioned sum per day. <br /> <br /> Each country cart bringing produce to the city for sale and occupying market space, 10~oents <br />per day. <br /> <br /> Each vehicle bringing fish to the city for sale or delivery, 10 cents per day as a market <br />tax. <br /> Each person, firm ~ co. rporation e. ngaged in the business of buying and selling oysters, <br />clams, or crabs by retaz~, $5.00, provmded that person, firm or corporation is not otherwise tax- <br />ed under this ordin~anoe. <br /> <br /> Each person selling wood, coal or other fuel, or ice from wagons, $t0. on each wagon'in'ad- <br />dition to the regular tax on wagons. <br /> <br /> Each person selling ice, coat~ wood or melons by retail from ice, wood or coal boxes, $5.00. <br /> <br /> Each person, firm or corporation conducting the manufacture of pop, ginger ale, sarsaparii- <br />la, or other aerated water from wagons, $15. in addition to the regular tax on wagons. <br /> <br /> Each non-resident person, firm or corporation, who shall sell pop, ginger ale, sa~saparilla, <br />or other aerated water from wagons, $15. in addition to the regular tax on wagons. <br /> <br /> Each person~ fim or corporation who shall engage in the business of selling ~rinking water <br />delivered ~n bottles or.jugs, and not a merchant paying a. merchant's license tax, $t0.00. <br /> <br /> Each ptaee of business s~lXing soda from fountains or "goose necks," $5. additional to any <br />other tax imposed by this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Each person, firm or corporation selling fruits, nuts, or confectioneries from the side- <br />walks, $30.00. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person, except agents for manufacturers,, to-use any wagons or <br />other vehicles for the purpose of peddling, within the limits of the city of Portsmouth, without <br />having first registered with the chief of police, his name and place of residence, and the na- <br />ture and date and tenure.of his license to do business within the said city.
