<br />parties having the benefit o£ co,~utry cart rates for stands on the streets without paying market

<br /> To instruct the Auditor to pay a bill of Hilton, Rawlings a Co. to amoun~ cf $$?5.00, for
<br />auditing books of the City Treasurer and City Auditor, when approved by the Fmnance Committee.

<br /> All of the above were concurred in, except the section instructing the proper authori-
<br />ties to place country carts coming to market along Crawford and South streets, &c., said section
<br />having been referred to the Finance Committee by the.Board Nay 18th.

<br /> The Board of Aldermen Nay 18th concurred also with the Common Council in all recommen-
<br />dations of Committee Nay llth, except that of the Street Committee that the Chesapeake & Potomac
<br />Telephone Company be permitted to construct a manhole at the corner of Court and High streets~
<br />and to lay a conduit north and south,.said recommendation being sent back to the Committee by
<br />the Board to require said Company to give a~bond for $5,000. to .mecure the City before the work
<br />begins.

<br /> At this point, the Common Council concurred with the Board of Aldermen in referring to
<br />Finance Committee the matter of ~lacing country carts coming to market along Crawford and South
<br />streets, &c.; and in recommitting to the Street Committee application of the Chesapeake & Poto-
<br />mac Telephone Company to construct a m~hote at the corner c~ Court and~High street~, &o., in-
<br />order to require said Company. to give a bond for $5,000. to secure the City before the work bec-
<br />gins.

<br />me not only as a present necessity but als0 as a future necessity.

<br />as to cLvainage to take care of an unusual fa~l¢~of water; mn fact, it does not satisfactorily tak~e~~
