Griffin street BE5 ft. east from Washington, <br />approximate cost of $~50~00. <br /> <br />be sewered at an <br /> <br />Referred by~ ComMon Council April tSth. <br /> <br /> Bills of the Portsmouth, Berkley & Suffolk Water <br />Seventh Wards for the quarter ending March $1, 1915. <br /> Progress as to same. <br /> <br />Co. for hydrant rental <br /> <br />in the Sixth and <br /> <br /> A communication from the Chief of the Fire Department calling attention to condition of <br />fire plugs at the following corners: High and Middle; South and Pine; Sixth avenue and High; <br />and Second avenue and County street. Progress. <br /> <br />Referred by Board of Aldermen April BOth and Common Council May tlth. <br /> <br /> A communication from Portsmouth, Berkley & Suffolk ~ter Company =~q~esting that a Committee <br />be appointed to meet with representatives of said Company looking to an-amicable adjustment of <br />all featumes of the "water question." White, Chairman. <br /> <br /> On'motion, the report of the Committee was adopted, the recommended appropriation of <br />to sewer Griffin street ES5 feet east from Washington being referred to Finance Committee. <br /> <br />$250. <br /> <br />Light s-- <br /> <br />Hon. Common Council--Board of Aldermen. <br /> <br />Gentlemen:-- Your Light Committee respect- <br /> <br />fully reports herein concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Light Committee May <br /> <br />1915: <br /> <br />Referred by Common Council Nay llth. <br /> <br />To consider the advisability of a light near one end of the Gosport Bridge. <br /> Progress as to same. <br /> <br /> Attention called to bad condition of the City lights, and especially at the corners of Ef- <br />fingham and Bart and Chestnut and Bar~ streets. <br /> We report that the condition of City lights is bad, but we can not remedy same until <br />a machine for testing lights is purchased. <br /> (Signed) S.B. Laylor, Vice-Chairman. <br /> <br />On motion, the report of the Committee was adopted.- <br /> <br /> (Mr. Houghton excused from further attendance). <br /> <br /> At this point, the rules were suspended to hear from Mr.- James Broughton concerning nece~ <br />sity for proper drainage at the corner of Harrison and Washington streets, but no action was <br />taken on the matter at this time.' <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS. <br /> <br /> First. Matters adopted by the Common Council May ltth and refer~ed to the Board of Alder- <br />men for concurrence. <br /> <br />To authorize the Treasurer to renew notes to amcr~nt of SBa, B00. falling due in June, 1915. <br /> <br /> To appoint a ~peoial Committee to consider changes necessary in the Plumbing Ordinances, <br />~so as to provide for better sanitary plumbing. <br /> <br /> To authorize the Street Committee to use at once one-sixth of its appropriation allowed in <br />the Budget. <br /> <br /> To authorize the'Fire Committee to sell.or otherwise dispose of disabled horses in the Fire <br />Department, when the Committee may believe it necessary so to do. <br /> <br /> <br />
