Prcg~ees.~ <br /> <br />To provide in .the Budget of 1914 ~or paving of CrawTord street, from High to London. <br /> ~rogress. <br /> <br /> To extend the pavement of Effingham street~ from County.to South& Progress. <br /> <br /> It is further recommended that the Street Committee, City Attorney, and City Engineer <br />be authorized to take up with the Harbor Commissioners the matter of the proposed bridge at the <br />-Cat Hole in First street, and it is the sense of the Committee that the spa~ should not be over <br />10 feet. <br /> It is further recommended that section 5~lof the Ordinances be amended so as to pro- <br />vi~e a charge for opening streets and roadwavsnot ~aved with <br /> - . ~---, cement or plastic pavement.; <br />that eectmon 895 of the Ordinances be amended so as to provide SB.O0, instead of $1.50, for open- <br /> ing brick sidewalks; and that a.charge be made for opening granolithic sidewalks. <br /> It is~ recommended further ~hat-the City Engineer be directed to ~nspect the poles of <br />the Virginia Railway & Power Company and ascertain if they are in conformity with ~he contract, <br />and where they are not in accordance .with the contract, to notify the Co~pany to~cOnfo~rm to %he <br />contract at once, and also that the City Engineer report the result of this investigation to the <br />Councils. <br /> (Signed). $.
