<br />Committee December 9-16, 1915:

<br /> Matter of inefficient service given by the Telephone Company.
<br /> Agreeably with such directfon, the Nangger of the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone~Com-
<br />party was req~ested to come before the Committee to e~plain su~dry.scmp~n~s.~ade a~?ut .th?
<br />ings of the Oempany in Portsmouth. He appeared and told the ~ommztteetham
<br />his Com y to give the community the best service at all times and that the Company is glad al-
<br />ways to re~er sufficient and satisfactory servmce.
<br /> H~ explained how the business may go wrong when the opera, or who handles the ~calt is
<br />not directly resoonsible for it; he invited the mercers of the Committee~ or citizens~t~isit
<br />the local exchange and see how the Telephone ~ompany's buszness
<br />medied, and a constant effort m~de to ele~ate the standard of service.
<br /> In view of the explanations bY the Manager~of the Telephone Company, the Committee have
<br />no recommendation to make concerning the same at this. time.
