On motion, the report of the Committee was adopted, the recommended appropriation of $~. to pay expenses of bringing to Portsmouth R. B. Preston' being referred to Finance Committee~ Public Property-- Hon. Board of Aldermen. Gentlemen:-- Your Public Property Committee re- spectfully reports herein concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Public Proper- ty Committee September 8th, 1914: Referred by Common Council September 8th. (With Finance Committee) A request of the City Sergeant for a new heater at the City Jail. We report that we have conferred with the Finance Committee concerning this heater and concur with the said Committee in recommending that an appropriation not in excess of be allowed to put said heater in condition for use during the coming winter. It is further recommenelmd that we be authorized to advertise for bids to furnish the several City Departments with fuel for the incoming season. (Signed) L. Privett, Chairman B. of A. Gentlemen:-- Your Ordinance Committee respectfully reports herein concerning ~he following matter referred to the Joint Ordinance Committee Septem- ber 8th, 1914: Referred by Common Counci~ September 8th. To consider a revision of the rules to re~alate plumbing in the City. Ne report that we have considered this matter and recommend the adoption of the fol- lowing ordinance to create a~ Plumbing Board: An Ordinance to Promote the Public Health and To Regulate the Sanitary Construction, House Draining, and Plumbing; Registration of Plumbers; Board of Examination of Plumbers; Their Powers and Duties; Compensation; Penalties. Also that Sections l, 1~ ZO, ~!~ Eg, ~?, 40,~48, 51, and 5~ of Chapter 1V ~f the ordinance entitled,"~zdinance Fixing Duties of Ci~y Surveyor and Inspector of Plumbing and Es- tablishing Plumbing Regulations for the City of Portsmouth," adopted by the Council June 9, 1896, be amended and re-ordained so as to read as follows: An Ordinance to Amend and Re-ordain Sec- tions l, 18, ~0, ~l, ~4, ~9, 37~ 40, 48~ .5~, and 53 of Chapter 1V of the Ordinance Entitled, "Or- dinance Fixing Duties of City Surveyor and Inspector of Plumbing and Establishing Plumbing Re- gulations for the City of Portsmouth," adopted by the Council June 9, 1896. A request of the Board of Health to have placed sewer mains in the following streets of the City:.
