<br /> The report having be~n read, on motion of Mr. Langhorne, the petition of the Chesapeake &
<br />Potomac Telephone Co. to be permitted to construct a. manhole at the corner of Court and High
<br />streets and to lay a COhabit north and south, was recommitted so as to require said Company to
<br />give a bond for $5~000. to secure the Cit~ before the work begins.
<br />
<br /> On motion, the advisability of having a new topographical map of the City to cost about
<br />$1,500. was reoom~itted.
<br />
<br />Then the report of the Committee was adopted, as amended,

<br /> Reoommitted. A petition of the Regent of wort Nelson Chanter D. A. R., that -sai-d Chapter
<br />be allowed to plaOe on the old sail lot a ,memorial" to Commodore ~ichard Dale.
<br /> It is .recommended that the "memorial" be placed on the Court House square, under the
<br />direction of the Public Property Committee.
<br />
<br /> Recommitted. A petition of the School Board that C~ancil divide the City into three school
<br />districts, giving the boundaries desired, kc. (See records of Board of.Aldermen April Z0,1915,

<br /> have discussed this matter with the Superintendent of Schools and have concluded
<br />
<br />to recommend, as previously recommended, that the petition of the School Board be granted..
<br />
<br /> To examine further in~o the matter of changing lights in the City Market.
<br /> We have looked into this matter, find the market is suitably lighted and at less cost
<br />than previously.
<br />

<br />Attention called to lack of facilities for washing at the Union Fire House.

<br />
<br />Attention called to condition of doors at the Park View Fire House.

<br />House, Grimes Battery Gun Room roof, Armory Building, and Armistead Building roof, and have re-
