~a~ IS, 19 i5o <br /> <br />tee April 1S-BOth: 1915: <br /> Referred by Common Council ~April l$th. <br /> <br /> A recommendation of the Seventh Ward Board that the Consolidated Investment Company be <br />permitted to grade Green street, between Randolph and Lincoln, with certain provisions. <br /> It is recommended that the petition be granted, the work to be done under the su. per- <br />vision of the City Engineer. <br /> <br /> A communication from the City.Engineer to the Nayor, in reply to a communication from the <br />Common Council March 9th, enclosin6 a communication from the Seventh Ward Board concerning con- <br />dition at the corner of Pearl and South streets. <br /> It is recommended that the matter complained of by the Seventh Ward Boa~d be sent back <br />to the Boa~d and its attention called to the remedy suggested by the City Engineer in his report <br />to the Mayor as to it April let, namely, that the pipe line west of Pearl street, across South, <br />be cleaned out. <br /> <br /> A petition of the Virginia R~i!way & Power Company to set nine poles for lighting service <br />on the so~th side of Phillips street, west side of Sixth avenue, Sixth Ward, as per blueprint <br />attached. <br /> ' It is recommended that the petition be granted. <br /> <br /> A petzticn of the Sevent'h Ward Board to have the City Engineer give lines on Randolph street~ <br />between Effin.gham and Washington. <br /> It zs recommended that the petition be gran~e~, and that the uz'~y ~gzneer gzve ~ne <br />necessary lines. <br /> <br /> A petition of the Chesapeake & ~Potoma¢ Telephone Co. to construct a manhole at the eo~ner <br />of Court an~ High streets; and to lay a conduit north and south.- <br /> It is recommended that the petition be granted, the work to be done under the super- <br />vision of the City Engineer. <br /> <br /> A petition of the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company to erect two ~0 ft. poles on the <br />north side of Boulevard street. <br /> It is recommended that the petition be granted, the work to be done un.de., r the super- <br />vision of the City Engineer. <br /> <br /> A petition of Ers. A. L. Ry. Co. the matter of re- <br />moving said tracks on High street and recommend aisc that the VirEinla Railway & Power Co. be <br />communicated with in the matter of completing its double tracks on said High street. <br /> <br /> A petition of taxpayers on Stonewall street, Fifth Ward, that said street be curbed, from <br /> Chestnut street to-Green. Progress as to same. <br /> <br /> (With City Engineer). To consider the advisability of having a new topographical map of <br /> the City, and ~o report cost of same. <br /> We report that this map will cost abOUt $1, 500.00. The Committee have this matter <br /> under further consideration. <br /> <br />Attention called to condition of the Scott Creek Bridge. <br /> <br />Progress. <br /> <br />Authorized to fix a price for the City steam roller and to sell the same. <br /> We report that the Committee have 'this matter under consideration. <br /> <br />Attention called to condition of the Second Street Bridge. <br /> We report that the condition of said bridge is being remedied. <br /> <br />Referred by Board of Aidermen April E0th. <br /> <br /> Reeommitted. Recommended appropriation of $750. t~ run a pipe across Harrison street to <br />empty on the east side of ~ashington. <br /> We report t~t the Committee has reconsidered the matter referred, but can make no <br />other recommendation than previously made, namely, tha~ a pipe line he run across Harrison <br />to empty on the east side of Washington, at a cost of $750.0~. <br /> <br />Attention called to the gu~ter on W~the street, between Cott~t and Third. <br /> We report that this matter has been remedied. <br /> <br /> A petition of Mrs. Wm. H. Stewart, 517-519 North street, that the City fill up the drain <br />now running through her yard. <br /> ~ report that~ preceding the ownership~f .the land by'Mrs. Stewart, there was a City <br />natural drain through it. This drain was abandoned by the City and has fallen into possession <br />of Mrs. Stewart. Therefore, the Committee can see no reason 'why the ditch should be filled~ <br />the Cit~ and recommend that the petition be not granted. <br /> <br />(Signed) <br /> <br />S.
