<br /> The Majority and MinOrity reports of the Cemetery Committee, ordered to lie on th~ table
<br />November 18th, were taken from the table and were read.
<br /> Mr. Cart remad:ked that both offers were excessive, said he would favor purchase of property
<br />offered by The Tidewater Realty Company at $50,000.00, and moved that said property be purchased
<br />at said price.
<br /> Th~ motion was adopted and by the following vote:

<br /> First. Matters adopted by the Board of Aldermen November iSth and referred to the COmmon

<br /> To instruct the Treasurer to make application to the Sinking Fund Commission for a loan to
<br />the City of funds amounting to approximately $5?,000.00.
<br />
<br /> To appoint a Committee of give, two from the Board of Aldermen and three frOm the Common
<br />Council, together with the City Attorney, who shall recommend to the Council the annexation of
<br />such territory in the Western Branch Magisterial District of Norfolk County as may be deemed
<br />expedient; and the terms of annexation as provided by law.
<br />
<br /> To appoint a Special Committe? of Five, two from the Board of Aldermen and three from the
<br />~ommon Council, who sha~l within ninety days from adoptmon of resolutmon, recommend to, the Coun-
<br />o31 such ch~uges in the boundaries of the War~s of the City, the representation therefrom, and
<br />the ~mes or numbers of the ~ards, as they may deem expedient.

<br /> To adopt a resolution concerning members of the Council attending meetings of the two bran-
<br />ches with a reasonable degree of regularity.

<br /> To purchase the Guthrie property adjo~ing the Oak Grove Cemetery for a cemetery, at a cost
<br />not to exceed $E, 500.00; and refer appropriation for~same to Finance Committee.

<br /> A resolution with regard to authorizing the Finance Committee to have the management
<br />direction of all City funds after J~uuary let, 1916, with certain limitations, &c.

<br />Third. Communications from the Mayor.
<br />
<br /> The Mayo~ returned his approval of .the following matters adopted by the two branches of
<br />City Council November 9-16th, 1915:
<br />
<br /> An appropriation of $9~5.00, out of Seventh Ward Bond Account~ to be used in the Seventh
<br />Ward as follows: $E50. for pipe line in Prentis Park; $150. for pipe line at Lincoln and Wash-
<br />inton streets; $300. for repairs to concrete corners on paved streets; and $~5. for repairs
<br />to holes in paved streets.
<br /> $E75.00, out of Sixth Ward Bond Account, to Have Fifth and Sixth avenues ditched and graded..
<br /> A special appropriation of $175. to improve the condition of the boiler room, &c., of the
<br />Municipal Building.
<br /> To make available the unexpended balance of the SEO0. allowed in the Budget of lS15 for
<br />"Court Room," for purchase of chairs and li..~oleum in the same.
<br /> To pay to the Portsmouth Suburban Water Co. $6,547.71 as net balance due by the City to
<br />said Company for water suppling to the ~ity in the Sixth and Seventh Wards up to and including
<br />Sept. ~0, 1915. (See accompanying resolution).
