Common <br /> <br />Council--Board of Aldermen. <br /> <br />Gentlemen:-- Your Pub- <br /> <br />lic Property & Schools Committee respectfully reportS' herein concerning the following matters <br />referred to the Joint Public Property & Schools Committee July l~-Zist, 1915: <br /> <br />Referred by Common Council July 15th. <br /> <br /> To look into the matter of apparent excessive cost of lights at the City Jail. <br /> We report that the cost of lights at the Jail has been due largely to the use of gas <br />there as fuel, but that after new heating plant shall have been installed it is expected that <br />such cost will be reduced. <br /> <br /> A petition of the Portsmouth Baraoa-Phi!athea Union to be allowed to use the Court House <br />lawn for a lawn party-Auguet loth. <br /> It is recommended that the petition be granted, under the super~iaion of the Public <br />Property Committee~ <br /> <br /> A petition of Regent Fort Nelson Chap., D. A. R., to be allowed to place a "memorial" to <br />Commodore Richard' Dale.on Washington street, opposite the Sigh SOhool Building.
