<br /> It is recommended that an appropriation of $50. be allowed for a fence around the
<br />Union Fire House and that the Committee be given authority to act in the matter.

<br /> It is further recommended that the Auditor be authorized to pay bills for work on room
<br />'for the Plumbing Inspector in the Armistead Building when the bills are approved by the Public
<br />Property Committee.
<br />
<br /> It is further recommended that the Committee be authorized to advertise for bids for
<br />a heating plant and for ~ater and sewerage pipe connections:~t the. City Jait,.and that they be

<br /> First. Matters adopted by the Common Council A~gust 10th and referred to the Board of Al-
<br />dermen for concurrence.
<br />
<br /> To authorize the Treasurer to renew notes to amount of $~7,~00. falling due in September,
<br />1915.
<br /> Concurred in.
<br />
<br /> To refer to the Street'Committee, with power to act, a petition of W. S. Parker to install
<br />a-gasoline pump at the corner of South street and Prentis avenue; and a petition of D. Sullivan
<br />to install in front of hie store No. SOS-04 Middle street a gasoline curb pump and well.
<br /> Concurred in referring to the Street Oommittee with power to act the petition of D.
<br />Sullivan, but referred the petition of W. S. Parker to the ~eventh Wa~d Board.
<br /> In connection with this matter, a communication was read from the Seventh Ward Board
<br />in which its consent was given to W. ~. Parker for a gasoline pump, said permission having been
<br />required by the Board of Aldermen on August ITth.
<br /> Whereupon, on motion of Mr. Hanve~ the action of the Board of Aldermen was concurred
<br />in, previous action on the same having been reconsidered.
<br />
<br /> TO appropriate a sum not to:exceed $~. for the employment of a policeman to regulate traf-
<br />fic on the streets.
<br /> Referred to the Finance Committee by the Board.

<br /> The Board concurred also in ail recommendations of Committees adopted by the Common
<br />Council, except recommendations of the Street Committee to appropriate $190. to pave the south
<br />side cf Ann street, between Armstrong and Owens; and to appropriate $100. to fill the north side
<br />of Randolph street, between Second and Third, and to extend pipe tine there; said matters being
