Gentlemen:-- Yolky Cemetery Committee respectfully reports herein concerning the following m~tte~s referred to Committee J~nuary l~, 1916: Referred by Common CounCil January l~th. the Joint Cemetery Advisability of purchasing the Gut?Jie property adjoining the Oal~ Grove Cemetery. We report that the Committee have looked into this matter and find the property con- tains about two (2) acres, or 150 lots of the usual size; that 100 of said lots are available at present with little preparation, and at a small cost for enclosure of the whole. A communication from the Seventh ~ard Board calling attention Of the Council to unsatis- factory lighting service in the Seventh ~ard. ~e have been informed that the lighting service has been poor of l~te in both the Sixth ~ud Seventh ~ards, a~d we hmve instructed the Cl'e2k to write to the Virginia Railway & Power Co. calling attention to this service and asking for a remedy for the same at once.
