Langhorne moved to refer to Public Property & Schools Committee to co- <br />operate with the School Board for the selection of sites for the new High School and negro <br />School, and for obtaining prices and options on the sites. The motion w~s adopted. <br /> Then the report of the Committee was adopted, the recommendation to m~ke available <br />certain amounts allowed in the Budget for Public Property Department being referred to Fi- <br />nauce Committee. <br /> <br />Almshouse-- <br /> <br />Hon. Common Council--Board of Aldermen. <br /> <br />Gentlemen.-- Your Almshouse Co-mit- <br /> <br />tee respectfully reports herein concerning the following m~tters referred to the Joint Alms- <br />house Committee Jamumry l~-lSth, and November 9th, 1915: <br /> <br />Referred by two branches JAnuary 14-18th. <br /> <br /> Authorized to re-advertise for bids to supply rations for the Almshouse s~ud the poor of <br />tn~ City with medmc~ues, for the rem~inder of the yea~ t916. <br /> We ~eport that we have so rs-advertised ~nd h~ve received the following bids there- <br /> <br />Rations: <br /> <br />J. F. Hodges & Co., $ , 9,60 <br />J. H. Belote & Son, 2, .~9.03 <br />G. N. Blanchard, 2,527.I~ <br /> <br />Medicines: <br /> <br />J. N. Dews, <br /> <br />prescriptions @ $.08 each, consisting of two fluid ounces iff li- <br />quids, two ounces if ointment, ten cmpsules or pills. <br />All proprietary medicines, bandages, &o., to be furnished ten per. <br />cent. above net cost. <br /> <br /> It is recommended that ~wmrd be made to J. H. Be!otc & Son to supply rations~ said <br />firm being the lowest bidder for s~ne; and to J. N. Dews to furnish medicines, with instruc- <br />tions that he shs~ll not furnish any proprietary medicin&s, bandages, water bags, &c., except <br />upon requisition signed by either the Ch~irma~ or Vice-Chairma~ of the Almshouse Committee; <br />and that the City Attorney be instructed to dra~ft contracts with s~!d firms for these supplies. <br /> <br /> <br />
