<br /> An appropriation of $550.00, out of appropriation in the Budget for "Horses,~ to pay ~ bill
<br />of J, Crawford Miller & Co. for two horses sold the Fire Department. A special appropriation of $3,000. for School Expenses for May,
<br /> An appropriation of $250,00, out of appropriation in the Budget for same, for a Portable
<br />Tar s~nd Asphalt Heater ~nd a No, 9 Fire Wagon~ freight on same to be paid by the City.
<br /> To make available $3,6~2.8~ in the Paving Bond Account for Street Paving purposes.
<br /> To permit the Virginia Railway & Power Co. to use a ?O lb. T rail with nose brick next to
<br />the rail on the inside for a finish, on Washington, Cooke, s~ud Effingh~ streets.
<br /> Fire Committee instructed to turn over to the Humane Society a horse formerly used by one
<br />of the fire companies, or ~o someone else who would care for him ~ud not work same.
<br /> An addition~l appropriation of $75. for ~uother ba~d of music for the firemen's pmrade in
<br />May. ($75. having been allowed in E~rsh for one ba~nd).
<br /> License Tax Ordin~uoe for the Yea~ 1916-t7 tsections imposing tax on alcoholic or malt li-

<br /> Mr. Privett moved that the report of the Public Property & Schools Committee recommending
<br />the purchase of the Central Market, ordered to lie on the table by this body May 16th, be con-
<br />tinued on the table.
<br /> Mr, Browne move~ tb amend~ that the recommendation of said Committee be not adopted.
<br /> Mr. Browne's ameidment was adopted ~nd by the following vote:
