233 <br /> <br />June 20, <br /> <br /> A petition of The Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. for permission to construct four poles <br />on scott street, between Green and Washington; as shown by copy of drawing attached to the pe- <br />tition. <br /> It is recommended that said petition be gr~nted, the work to be done under the super- <br />vision of the City Engineer. <br /> <br />tery. <br /> <br />To put in low places in O~d~ Grove Cemetery dirt to be taken from ~ooke street, when paved. <br /> We repo~t that the dirt to be taken from Cooke street will be put in Oek Grove Ceme- <br /> <br />Referred by Board of Aldermen May 16th. <br /> <br />Advisability of the City selling the old stone t~ken out of the streets when paving is done. <br /> Progress as to s~me. <br /> <br /> In May, the Committee was allowed $250. fcra Portable Tar and Asphalt Heater and a <br />No. 9 Fire Wagon, freight on same to be paid by the City; but since that time, the City Engineer <br />has come across a combination apparatus far more expedient s~ud rapid for the work, at a cost of <br />$575. with freightage; ~ud it is recon~ended that the said machine be substituted for the one <br /> <br />allowed, the cost to be paid out of allow~nce for "Repairs to Streets a~d Repair Outfit" in the <br />Budget. <br /> (Signed) S~ Cleburne Bremen, Chairman. <br /> <br /> (Signed) H.F.
