It is recommended that a light be so placed. <br /> <br /> Referred by Board of Aldermen April 18th. <br /> <br /> A request of the Seventh Ward Board for three additional 75 Watt la~os, to be pieced as <br />follows: London and Sixth avenue; Godwin and Queen; and Richmond avenue and King street. <br /> It is recommended that %h'e~request be_g~anted, and that the lights be so placed. <br /> <br /> (Signed) S.B. Privett, Vice-Chairman. <br />of the Committee wms adopted. <br /> <br /> First, Matters adopted by the <br />men for conc'o.vrence. <br /> <br /> UNFINISHED BUSINESS. <br /> <br />Common Council July llth and referred to the Board of Alder- <br /> <br /> To extend the time of the Commissioner of the Revenue to September 1st, 1916, to complete <br />the personal property assessments and land ~ooks, a~d request him to be ready by that time, if <br />possible. <br /> <br /> To direct the Street Committee and City Attorney to require the contractors or their bond- <br />ing compauy to repair ~hed~fects on Dinwiddie street and other streets which were paved at the <br />time Dinwiddie street was paved. <br /> <br /> To authorize and instruct the Street Committee to remove the monument to Grimes Battery at <br />the corner of ~ashington and South streets to parking place on Washington street. <br /> <br /> To request the Park Commission to submit to Council plans with estimates, for beautifying <br />the parking on Washington street. <br /> <br />All of the above were concurred in. <br /> <br /> The Board concurred also in all recommendations of Committees adopted by the Common <br />Council July llth. <br /> <br />Second. Communications from the Mayor. <br /> <br /> A communication was read from the Mayor in which he stated that Mr. R. A. Herbert was re- <br />lieved from duty as a police off~cer on July 17th after he had been tried by him on a charge <br />of intoxication and, on motion, said communication w~s ordered to file. <br /> <br /> The Mayor returned his~pprova2 of the fol!owlngm~tters adopted by the two branches of <br />City Council June l~-30th ~nd July ll-18th, 1~16: <br /> <br /> To instruct the Finance Committee to make notes in the several City banks to amotu3t of <br />$25,0~0.00 for sites for the new High School s~ud colored School buildings; said amount to be <br />included in the bond issue for schools,but to be turned in~o general funds when bonds are s01d. <br /> An approPrimtion of $575- with freightage, for a Repair Outfit, out of allowance for "Repairs <br />to Streets and Repair Outfit" in_the Budget. <br /> A special appropriation of $~15~. to reoair the feed room of the Park View Eu~e w~,~_ <br /> <br /> <br />
