<br /> A sum$ons for the City of Portsmouth to appear at the Circuit Co,~t for the Oity of No=-
<br />folk on the first Monday in September, 1917, to answer a bill in chancery exhibited mgainst
<br />the City by W. E. Thomas, was referred to the City Attorney to protect the interests of the
<br />City in this matter.

<br /> The City Man,get.brought up the matter of improper course of the railway tracks at the
<br />intersection of Fourth and Wythe streets.~
<br /> The matter was discussed and the Manager suggested that the Council ~eques~ the Vir~
<br />ginia Railway & Power Co. to change'the course of its tracks at this intersection.
<br /> The suggestion by the Man, get w~s adopted.

<br /> On motion, the. Dep~tmen~ of Law w~s requested to bring in an ordir~uce covering
