<br /> WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council, ff is in the interest of the City and its
<br />i ~ab~ts that the said Amendment be approved.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth,
<br />Virginia:
<br />
<br />1. That regarding Amendment No. 3, it is hereby found:
<br />
<br />(a)
<br />
<br />That the objectives of the Twin Pines Projec% Portsmouth, Virgima, can
<br />be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendment to the Plan.
<br />

<br />That Amendmem No. 3 meets the requirements of a Redevelopment
<br />Project pursuant ro Chapter 1 of Title 36 of the Code of Virgin/a, 1951],
<br />as amended.

<br /> 2. That Amendment No. 3, having been duly reviewed and considered, ks hereby
<br />approved and adopted and the City _Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment
<br />with the minutes of this meeting.

<br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING AiMENDMF_aNT NO. 25 TO ~4_E CRAWFORD
<br /> CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE CRAWFORD URBAN
<br /> RENEWAL PROJECT
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted Augnsr 1, 1967, approved a Conse~ation
<br />and Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, Portsmouth, Vkgi~a (Plan);
<br />and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and approval, a copy
<br />of an amended Plan for the project area, which Plan consxs~s cf 20 p~ges mod ~ e~bits
<br />(Amendment No. 25); and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 25 proposes ro designate add/tional properties as "To Be
<br />Acquired," and to redesignate certain other properties as "Not to be Acquired"; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, thks Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the provks~ons
<br />of the Housing and Community Developmem Act of 1974. as amended, includ~hg those
<br />prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, religion, familial sram% handJc%¢~ sex or
<br />national origin; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, in the judgmem of this Council, it is in the interest of the City and its
<br />inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved.
