<br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN
<br />FOR THE HATTONSVILLE REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted October 27, 198L approved a
<br />Redevelopment Plan for the Hattonsville Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth~ V[rginia (Plan); and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and approval, a copy
<br />of an amended plan for the project area, which Plan consists of 20 pages and 2 exh/bits
<br />(Amendment No. 2); and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 2 proposes to change the ivmd use l*-an from industrial reuse
<br />to public reuse for the eastern portion of the project area; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the prov~sions
<br />of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as an~.ended, including those
<br />prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, reli~on, familial stores, handicap, sex or
<br />national origin; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council, it is in the kxterest of the City m~d its
<br />inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth,
<br />Virginia:
<br />
<br />1. That regarding Amendment No. 2, it is hereby found:
<br />
<br />(a)
<br />
<br />That the objectives of the Hattonsville Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can
<br />be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendment to the Plan.
<br />
<br />(b)
<br />
<br />That Amendment No. 2 meets the requirements of a Redevelopmenr
<br />Project pursuant to Chapter 1 of Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950,
<br />as amended.
<br />
<br /> 2. That Amendment No. 2, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby
<br />approved and adopted and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment
<br />with the minutes of this meeting.

<br />REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE TWIN PINES REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council byzesolution adopted June 9, 198L approv~ a Redevelopmen~
<br />Plan for the Twin Pines Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Vir~n~ (?laa); and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there has been presemed to this body for consideration and~:approval, a copy
<br />of an amended Redevelopment Plan for the project area, which Plan coas[sts of 13 pages and 2
<br />exhibits; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 3 proposes to designate certain properties with/n the project
<br />area "To Be Acquired"; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions:that are imposed by the provisions
<br />of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those
<br />prohibiting discrimination because of race,.ag2, color, religion, familial stares, handicap, sex or
<br />national origin; and
<br />
