015 <br /> February 14, 1995 <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and hereby <br />is, directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the <br />Virginia Department of Forestry for inclusion as part of the <br />City's Grant proposal Application under the Program." <br /> <br />Ayes: Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Webb <br />Nays: Clemons <br /> <br />95-75 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a <br />motion authorizing the City Manager to award a contract to Earth <br />Design AssOciates, Inc. <br /> <br /> "Last year, City Council approved a resolution for an <br />application to the Department of Environmental Quality for a <br />grant to develop a shoreline access plan and a motion to <br />transfer $20,000 from the Grants Contingency Account. <br /> <br /> The results of the study will provide an inventory of <br />City-owned waterfront property and create a neighborhood based <br />development plan for public access. A few select privately <br />owned sites, such as the Old Russell Crab House, will be <br />considered. <br /> <br /> The shoreline access plan will assist the City in meeting <br />requirements of the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act and <br />implementation of the proposed Vision 2005 Strategy. The <br />Conunittee recommended Earth Design Associates, Inc. for the <br />task. The grant will be matched with $20,000 of in-kind <br />services provided by Planning staff. No cash outlay will be <br />required. <br /> <br /> I, therefore, request your adoption of a motion to <br />authorize the City Manager to award a contract in the amount of <br />$20,000 to Earth Design Associates, Inc." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to <br />authorize the award of a contract to Earth Design Associates, <br />Inc. for the development of a shoreline access plan, and was <br />adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, M~rtln, Pitts, Robinett, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />95-76 - Mr. Clemons offered the following nominations for <br />appointments to the following Commission: <br /> <br />Transportation and Safety Commission <br /> <br />Capt. Ronald W. Lewis to fill a term of three years, ending <br />November 1, 1997, replacing H. K. Darden. <br /> <br />Keith Lodge to fill a term of three years, ending November 1, <br />1997, replacing B. K. Rowley. <br /> <br />Benjamin Howard to fill a term of three years, ending November <br />1, 1997, replacing Joseph Wright. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to close <br />the nominations, and there being no further nominations, the <br />above were approved by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
