<br /> In connection wf~h Street Cleaning Department, the following majority and minority re-

<br /> "A majority of the Finance Committee, Consisting of L. G. White and R. B.
<br />Esleeck, would r§commend that the $8,296. recommended to be appropriated for Chain Gang, be
<br />appropriated for Labor in the Street Clea~ing Department, and that the Chain Gang be abolished."
<br />
<br /> "A minority of the Finance Committee, consisting of Vernon Brooks, in dissenting from the
<br />majority.report, would recommend that the appropriation of $8,296. as recommended, be retained
<br />fur the Chain Gang, a~d that the said Chain Gang be kept in full operation for the coming year."
<br />
<br /> Whereupon, Mr. Hall move~ that the Majority Report be adopted. Mr. Brooks moved to
<br />a~end~that the Minority Report be adopted. The amendment was lost by the following vote:
