<br />- CITY MANAGER'S REPORT
<br />
<br />95-118 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of
<br />an ordinance to appropriate $175;000 from the Capital
<br />Improvements Fund for repair of storm drain cave-ins throughout
<br />the City.
<br />
<br /> "Included in the recently approved 1994-99 Capital
<br />Improvement Plan, is $175,000 for storm drain cave-in repair. A
<br />large portion of the City is served by an aging storm drainage
<br />infrastructure. The soils in this region are very conducive to
<br />the formation of cave-ins whenever there is a separation in a
<br />section of storm drain. As a result, we have a continual
<br />backlog of cave-ins to be repaired.
<br />
<br /> The Director of Public Works recommends appropriation of
<br />the authorized $175,000 to address these problems. I concur
<br />and, with your approval of this item, the balance in the Capital
<br />Improvements Plan is $17,600,131."
