<br /> A petition was read from W. G, Nottingham to be allowed to install a gasoline tank on the
<br />premises Situate at the southeast intersection of Court and Clifford streets, the' capacity
<br />being 10,000 gallons;
<br /> On motion of Mr. Brooks, the petition was referred ~o the City Manager and Chief of
<br /> the Fire Department for recommendat'ion and report hack to the Council.
<br /> A communication was read from the Suburban Investfaent Company stating that they have
<br />gotten estimate from"the~Va. RY.~& Power Co. to install eteotric light poles and wires from
<br />Shell Road near Crad~ock through property they are developing, which prope~.~y lies between
<br />the ~h~21?[Road and Deep Creek Boulevard, which would require ah6ut six pole~ for ~he City
<br />to install electric lights at the City Almshouse; the Company's proportion of cost to he
<br />about 3/$ amd the City's 1/4.
<br /> On motion, the communication was referred to the City Manager.
<br /> The-Budget- of School Expenses for the Year 1922, as. sut~.itted hy the School Board, was
<br /> referred_ to the Finance Committee.

<br /> On motion, the petition was referred to the Finance Committee.
<br /> A request was read from the City School Board, asking the Cc~ncil' to make available the
<br /> amount of $20,000.00 of the School Appropriation to. supplement the school funds received f-~om
<br /> the State, to cover the-amount of November salaries.

<br />rate of $.~ on $10~D00 and the rate the Banks paid in 1919 and 1920, and that the City will
<br />change/it~ rate in 1921 to $.8~ on the $100.00.

<br /> With the fuzther agreement that, if the decision of ,the Court is that $.30
<br />on $100.00 is all that~.c~n b~ legally collected .f. rom the Banks, the City will refund one-h~lf
<br />of the ~difference.hetween .the $'30 rate and the'$.~5 rate.
