C. Norcom High School, and a <br />motion awarding the contract to E. V. Williams Company, Inc. <br /> <br /> A. Ordinance to appropriate $241,020 from the Capital <br />Improvements Fund for installation of a surcharge load. This <br />work includes placement of soil to a depth of six feet over the <br />building pad area. <br /> <br /> B. Motion to award a construction contract to the low <br />bidder, E. V. Williams Company, Inc. <br /> <br /> "Funds are identified in the 1993-98 Capital Improvement <br />Plan for construction of the new I. C. Norcom High School. <br />Prior to construction of the building, it is necessary to <br />install a surcharge load over the area in order to compress a <br />layer of soil in the old creek bed of Scott's Creek. <br /> <br /> Construction bids were received on March 30, 1995 for this <br />work. The bids were competitive and favorable with today's <br />construction market (see Attachment No. 1). The total <br />anticipated project cost is itemized as follows: <br /> <br />Construction Contract (E. V. Williams Company, <br />Compaction Testing Services <br />Contingencies <br />Contract Administration and Inspection <br /> <br />Inc.) <br /> <br />$192,020 <br />$ 9,000 <br />$ 30,000 <br />$ 10,000 <br /> <br />TOTAL ANTICIPATED PROJECT COST <br /> <br />$241,020 <br /> <br /> The Director of Public Works recommends award of a <br />construction contract to the low bidder. E. V. Williams <br />Company, Inc. and an appropriation of $241,020 from the Capital <br />Improvements Fund. <br /> <br /> I concur with the Director of Public Works and, with your <br />approval of this item, the balance in the Capital Improvements <br />Fund will be $16,870,054." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to <br />adopt the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following <br />vote: <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $241,020.00 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />iMPROVEMENTS FUND FOR THE SURCHARGE AND FILL INSTALLATION FOR <br />THE NEW I.C.
