105 <br /> )ril 25 1995 <br /> <br /> To remain within the Iimit of the funds presently <br />available, thelD~rector of Public Works recommends award of <br />approximately 50% of the painting contract to Cleco Corporation. <br />Therefore, the Director of Public Works requests an <br />appropriation of $1,138,000 and award of the contracts to the <br />three low bidders: The Kennedy Company of Virginia, J. <br />Hemminger Construction Company, and the Cleco Corporation. <br /> <br /> I concur with the Director of Public Works and, with your <br />approval of this item, the balance in the Capital Improvements <br />Fund will be $15,532,054." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to <br />adopt the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following <br />vote: <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $1,138,000.00 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENTS FUND FOR THE REHABILITATION OF A PORTION OF THE <br />CHURCHLAND BRIDGE WHICH iNCLUDES AN EXPANSION JOINT REPLACEMENT, <br />DECK OVERLAY, CLEANING AND PAINTING." <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to award <br />the contracts to the Kennedy Company of Virginia, J. Hemminger <br />Construction Company and the Cleco Corporation for <br />rehabilitation of a portion of the Churchland Bridge, and was <br />adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />95-210 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />an ordinance to appropriate $40,000 from the Capital <br />Improvements Fund to replace the air conditioning system in the <br />Children's Museu~ of Virginia and the Data Processing section of <br />the Department of Information Technology, and a motion to award <br />the contract to Damuth Trane Company. <br /> <br /> a. Ordinance to appropriate $40,000 from the Capital <br />Improvements Fund for the replacement of two air conditioning <br />systems. <br /> <br />b. Motion to award contract to Damuth Trane Company. <br /> <br /> "The 1994-95 Capital Improvements Program authorized <br />$40,000 for the replacement and repair of heating and air <br />conditioning (}IVAC) systems in various city-owned buildings. <br />Among those buildings identified as having the greatest need <br />were the Children's Museum of Virginia and the Information and <br />Technology Department located in City Hall. <br /> <br /> Bids have been received and a listing of the bids is <br />attached for your review. The bid price for both buildings <br />totals $35,680 and is for the purchase of a~r conditioning <br />system components. Installation will be performed by the <br />Department of General Services. <br /> <br /> The Assistant City Manager has recommended the component <br />contract be awarded to the low bidder, Damuth Trane Co. I <br />concur with this recommendation and request an appropriation in <br />the amount of $40,000. With your approval of this item, the <br />balance in the Capital Improvements Fund will be $15,492,054." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to adopt <br />the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
