<br /> There is a suit pending in the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth institu~ed
<br />by Lmla X. Shreeves against the City and D, P. ender Gro~ry Oom!~any te recover $5,G00. for alleged
<br />injm~ies sustained by her en November ~6, 19~?, by falling on the sou~h side of High'Street
<br />at the-entrance ~f the D. P. S~ore, near Green Street. This case was set for t~ial on last
<br />~day, but Mr. Lester S. Parsons, who represents the D. Pe~er Grocery Company, secured
<br />agreemen~ fr~m the DX~int~iff's attorney te compromise the ease for $20$, Mr. Parsons then took
<br />the~matter mD with Mr. Hanrahan~ offering te pay one hal~ of the above amo~t provided
<br />Oily pat~ o~e half, Mr. Ha~r~aam and myself comferred abomt the matter, and after I interview-
<br />e~ome of ~he witnesses, we decidedit wo~tld be b~tter te settle the case en this b~sis, and
<br />ag~ee~with Mr~ Parse~s that we would recommend such ~ settlement. On the strength of this
<br />the eas~ was ¢onti~ue~. Mr. H~mraham, being out of the~Oit~, I ~m therefore re~questimg that
<br />we ~e authorized te settle the case by the Oity paying~$100, the plaintiff to pay all~eests ef
<br />court.
