25t September 26, 1995 Motion by Mr.:~Robinett, ~nd seconded by Mr. Clemons, to transfer $33,311 ~ allow Social Services to subcontract with Tidewater Regional Group Home Commission/In-Home Services to provide group treatment services to parents and children ages 8 to 18 who have been involved with Child Protective Services, and was adopted by the following vote= Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Webb Nays: None 95-4:42 - Letter from the Acting City Manager recommending adopltion of a motion to refund $33.40, with interest, to Kenneth J. a~d Treganza Goodman. "The City Assessor is requesting a refund of $33.40, with interest, to KeD_neth J. and Treganza Goodman. The property at 21~0~ Charleston Avenue, Portsmouth, Virginia 23704, was erroneously listed with a detached garage, resultin~ in an overassessment. The refund Ks for real estate taxes assessed and Paid in error for the fiscal years 1992-93, 1993-94, and 1994i-95. I recommend your approval of this motion for a refund with interest." Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to refuDd $33.40, with interest, to Kenneth J. and Treganza Goodman, for real estate taxes assessed and paid in error for the ~Y 1992/93, 1993/94 and 199%/95, and was adopted by the following vote: Ayesi: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Webb · Naysl. None - NEW BUSINESS - 95-4~3 Boards and Commissions There were no appointments. 95-4~4 Items Submitted by Councii~ Members iMotion by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to direct the ~ity Attorney and City Manager to review the injunction on the Showcase and to report to Council its options with respect to any violations of the injunction, and was adopted by a vote of 6~1 (Clemons). Mr. Hawks also spoke on suggestions from the Commonwealth's AttOTney on ways to deter the numbers of black on black cr~me, and the need for additional funds for the witness protection program. 95-4~5 - Continued Non-Agenda Speakers There were no other speakers. Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to go int~iExecutive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: i(1) Discussion of the acquisition or use of real property for public purpose or the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). I (2~ Discussion of personnel matters, as permitted by Subsection {A} (1). (3) Discussion of litigation, as permitted by Subsection (A) (7). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote.
