Due to an
increase in the reimbursement rate by the State, the funds
received this fiscal year will exceed the projected revenue by
$477,000. These funds may only be used by the City for
maintenance and repairs to City streets and related facilities
and must be expended by June 30, 1996.

The Director of Public Works recommends approval of these
funds to be expended in accordance with State requirements on
street maintenance. Since these anticipated revenues in the
General Fund will cover the expected costs there will be no
adverse impact to the budget.

It is recommended that in order to expend these funds a
motion to transfer from the General Fund Contingency (Emergency)
Account be approved in the amount of $477,000."
