<br />In this connection, the following letter from theNanager was read:
<br />
<br /> "The caption of the ordinance relating to the manufacture, sale and disposition
<br />of beer, wine, etc., which was placed on first reading at meeting on August 22m~, should be
<br />amended by eliminating the following wo~ds in the first line: "~o regulate and control" and
<br />in lieu of-these words insert the following words ,relating Zo", which would make the first
<br />line of the caption read,AN ORDINANOE Re%ating to the Manufacture"; This amendment is neces-
<br />sary in order that the ordinance will conform with the State Law.
<br /> I recommend that the following license fees be inserted in this ordinance and
<br />charged manufacturers, bottlers, wholesalers and retailers of beer, wine, etc., from the ef-
<br />fective date of this ordinance to April 30th, 1934:
<br />
<br />Manufacturer - $300.00
<br />Bottler - 1~5.00
<br />Wholesaler - lY5.00
<br />Distributor - 1~5.00
<br />Retailer - 17.50."

<br />Motion of Nr. 0gg that the amendment offered by the Mauager be adopted.

<br /> Mr. Brooks offered an amendment to the amendment to make the licemee as follows:
<br />manufacturers $500.00, wholesalers $100.00, bottlers $150.00, distributors $100.00, retailers,
<br />who hold a soft drink license $15.00. Those who do not hold a soft drink license, $~1.00.
<br />Licenses to he issued annually and pro-rated. Mr. B~ooks' amendment was lost and by the fei-
<br />lowing vote:
