24 November, 1933.

Gentlemen of the Oouncil:-

I wish to invite your attention to an error in my 1~33 building tax, amounting to
the sum of one hundred dollars. This error was made in~ the office of the Oommissioner of
Revenue by the late John O. Ne i meyer, which error,~I am oositive was not intentional.
~i Neimey~r assessed my home at two thousand-dollars of which fact I have proof,
having in my possession an order ~rom him to the Oity Collector stating the amount ($2000.00)
and for the first year I have been paying my taxes, by the monthly plan, on that amount.
Upon receiving my 1933 tax notice I find that my home has been assessed at twenty
one hundred dollars and I~ immediately called on the present Oommissioner of Revenue, Mr. Hud-
gins, who readily saw th~ mistake but stated that he Could do nothing about it, due to the
fact that Mr. Ne i meyer was Commissioner at the time the error was made. Mr. Hudgins:advised
me to take the matter up with the 0ounoil and that he would either write a letter o~ appear
in person before the Oouncil meeting to verify my claim.
Trus~ng that you gentlemen of the Oouncil will give this m~tter due consideration
and make the necessary adjustment, I am,

Yours very truly,

Hunter J. Powell.,
