<br /> Motion of Mr. Ogg to make an additional appropriation of $3,000.00 to the budget
<br />for the Kings~Daughters Hospital, and to add $6,500.00 for Tax assessment and to reduce pen-
<br />sions by $660.00, and to reduce Trash and Garbage $400.00, was adopted, and by the following
<br />vote:

<br /> Ayes: Brooks, Fox, Hutchins, Mayo, Moore, Oast, Ogg - 7.

<br /> Motion of Mr. Fox to add $450.00 to Mater Budget was adopted, and by the follow-

<br />The following letter was read and referred to the City Attorney:
<br />
<br /> "Among the tax statements sent to my father, James Monroe Broughton, of Ocean
<br />View, for his portsmouth property, was the enclosed tax statement for personal property of
<br />Jam~s Marion Broughton. I did not notice that this statement was no~ for my father until after
<br />I had paid it, along with the taxes on his property and it was called to my attention l~ my fa-
<br />ther. I went to the 0ity Oollecter's office on several occasions to have my ~onej refunded
<br />without success. Lasz week Mr. Parker, the Oity Oollector,~told ms that the mat~r of this re-
<br />fund would have to come thru you, the City~ Council.

<br />my refund at an early date, I am,
