<br /> I wish to submit an offer of compromise of the delinquent taxes due on the old
<br />dwelling house at No. 16 Middle Street, a part of the Eastwood Estate, pro~ided satisfactory
<br />arrangements can be made to secure title ~rom the present owners.
<br /> The house is very old and during the severe storm of last August a part cf the
<br />roof was blown off, the inside of the house has been exposed to the weather ever since and is
<br />daily deteriorating.
<br /> I am making this offer in the interest of a customer who is a near relative and
<br />will expect no commission or~ other profit. I will pay $600. for a receipt in full or deed
<br />can be made ~s the City and the property conveyed to my principal by the City. '
<br /> it will be necessary for me to know at once if your Honorable body will agree
<br />so means can be taken to stop the damage and restore the property to livable condition which
<br />will make it a proper subject for taxation.

<br /> The Oo.mpensation Board found it practica~!y impossible accurately to apportion
<br />expenses between the offieiat work on t he one hand ana ~h~li~ra~t~ practice of law on the
<br />other. For this re~son, no separate expense account has been fixed, but estimated necessary
<br />expenses have been considered in arriving at the salary, and the salary was ~ixed to include
<br />both salary and expenses.
<br /> . In fixing this salary, the Compensation Board has~ac~ed within the limitations
<br />of.the combined compensation of any such officer and the expense of his office be increased
<br />przor to July 1st, 1936, any provision herein to the contrary, notwithstanding.,
<br /> Within the above limitation, and having regard to the minimum and maximum sums
<br />mentioned in the Compensation Act, the Compensation Board, in fixing the salaries of attorneys
<br />for the Commonwealth, has taken into consideration the following.factors: Population, loca
