Anderson, referred to me at your <br />meeting held on January 22, 1935, concerning the bond of $5000.00, given ~n 1913, by the Bank <br />of Tidewater, Inc.,. with Mr. E.L. L~sh as surety, I believe that the insurance policy submit- <br />ted by the Citizens Trust Company protects the City as well or better ths~ the bond, and that <br />Ur. Lash might be relieved from the bond. The Bank of Tidewater has disposed of all its pro- <br />perry, and the insurance policy is for twice the smount o£ the bond. <br /> Attached hereto is a letter.from the Citizens Trust Company stating ~hat the <br />Board of Directors of the Company has authorized the procurement of the insurance policy and <br />the payment of the premiums thereon, and agreeing that if the same is not paid then it will <br />reimburse the City for the premiums which it may pay. However, if the premiums are not paid <br />the Oity h~e the right to prohibit the use of the opening in the sidewalk and may cause the <br />same to be closed, which p~ivilege should be exercised if the policy at any time should lapse. <br /> Motion of Er.
