' -- <br /> ~t~ - ~I received a communication from Lonnle Martin, U.$.Post Office ~rage, <br />527 Cove StreStl Norfolk, claiming $25.00 reward for information which he claimed he furnish- <br />ed to Police Officer T.J.'Follary, resulting in the arrest and conviction of John Tonkin, <br />April 22nd, 1936; the offense being disconnecting heating radiators and piping, preparatory <br />to removal from building'at 60y Court St. <br /> I referred the matter to the Chief of Police, who reported on May 5th, <br />as follows: <br /> 'In regard to your letter of April 30th, naming Lonnie <br /> Nartin of Norfolk, Va., as claimant of $25.00 reward autho- <br /> rized by th~ City Council for information leading ~o the ar- <br /> rest and conviction of anyone wanto_nly destroying property, <br /> I wish to advise that our records show that John Tonkin,Jr. <br /> was arrested on April 23rd, 1936 by Officers L.A. Broughton <br /> and T.J. Follary, c~ed with malicious ~respassing; he <br /> was tried on April ~n and being found guilty, was fined <br /> <br /> <br />
