on tour since December 7, 1932. In that time, it has visited over nine hundred cities in
As a matter of fact, no City, Stats or Co'~uty in which they have traveled has any license law
covering a strictly edueations~l e~daibit.
I will be very grateful if you.will reimburse our tro~oe, with this amount.
~'The Garden Clubs of Portsmouth have heretofore been staging flower shows in
the~Oity Auditorium at no cost to them whatsoever. This year we had hoped to dO the same, but
Mr. Davis s~ys we can not have the auditorium unless we pay $15.00. This, we can not do as
we do not have ~ny money.
We had hoped to have the Auditorium for June lSthand 17th, having wednesday
for decoration and for arranging the flowers - arid Thursday for the show.
Due to the fact that this is a civic affair, showing how the Garden Clubs of
this City have beautified the City and raised flowers, we feel that this honorable body, the
City Couhoil, should let us have-the auditorium for this flower show at no cost and without
us going through such red tape as it looks like we will,
Th8nking you for any consideration you migh2 give this matter, we are,
