It was read amd adopted at the last meeting of the Portsmouth _Central Labor Union, <br />me-eting of February 17th, and in accordance with the "Further Resolve" of the resolution, it <br />will be appreciated if you will call it to the attention of each and every member of the <br />Coumeil. <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> <br />~hereas - <br /> <br />On january 20th, 1939, the Portsmouth Central Labor Union <br />of Portsmouth, 'Virginia,' in regula~ ~eSsion, went on recor(1 <br />as.being opposed to the closing of Beer amd Wine establish- <br />ments on.Sunday in the City of Portsmouth, and appointed <br />a committee to appear before the Honorable City Council s~d <br />oppose this section, and <br /> <br />~lereas - <br /> <br />On February 7th, 1939, there appea~ed in the local news <br />papers, no~iee to the effect th~ the Central Labor ~ion <br />had discharged the committee appointed to carry out the <br />tion of this bod~ and ~ould discontinue its opposition to <br />the ban on sunday-Beer and Tine.
