December 27th~ 1940. George T. McLean was appointed to fill the. unexpired term originally assigned to E. C. Allen, and his term expires on Seotember 12, 19~to Mo L. McOarty was appointed to fill the unexpired term originally assiMned to J.M. Overton, and his term expires on September 12~ 19~2. Norman R. Hamilton was appointed to fill the unexpired term originally assigne~ to To A. Willett, and his term expires on September 12~ 19~3, Furthermore, the term of 01yde W. WILSON, TRUSTEE, TO WILLIAM MILLER, DATED AUGUST 1st, 1860? Motion of Mr. Fox to place said ordinance on its first reading~ was. adopted. The following communication from the .City Attorney was read~ "At your last meeting you referred to me a letter from M~s. Le~the! P. Wim - - brough, requesting a refund of $30.00 for taxes paid in error. I find that the building on the land of Mrs. Wimbrougn at 628-30 Fayette Sto, was razed in 1938, as stated in her letter. This ~opes~ed to be done after the assessors had viewed the property~and they failed to re - move the assessment on the building from the Building Inspector's records. There was no building on the l~ud d~ing the years 1939 and 1940 and she should be refunded $30.00 or $15. for each of said years," ~fction of Mr. Fox to concur in the Attorney's recommendation, was adopted. Shirley Hope, State Game Warden, for destroying ninety tagless dogs at $2.50 each, totaling $225.00, was received, and on motion, the Treasurer was autho - rized t~ pay same from funds in her hands'from collection of Dog Tsxes.- The following letter was read~ "Under date of November 22nd,19~0, we had an agreement with Mr. W.L. Davis, to use the Municipal Auditorium on the afternoon and evening of December 6, 19'40. We were forced to c~ucel this agreement with Mr. Davis, after having paid th~ fee of $15.OO, and we .would appreciate it if you would mail us a check for the refund of the amount involved.
