<br />In connection herewith, the following petition was read:

<br /> ~The petition of the subscribers, residents-of Monroe Ward and citizens of the
<br />City of Portsmouth~ in the State of Virginia, respectfully showeth~ that the bus service now
<br />rendered by the Virginia Electric & Power Comoany on the Sixth Avenue route is inadequate. The
<br />thirty minute schedule now in effect does not meet the needs of transportation in th£s vici -
<br />nity.
<br /> Now, therefore, the petitioners pray that the Honorable City Council will take
<br />such action as is,necessary to require the said Virginia Electric & Power Company to maintain
<br />a fifteen minute schedule on this route between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 18:00 A.M. and 3:00
<br />
